I had checked the true fairy-tale since then. This skill plays an integral part in the story, fabric being a thing that can contain magical properties. That might be why I liked Princess of the Midnight Ball the most--because it's more classic, and yet still gives a good feel for what the book is about. The first one, Princess of the Midnight Ball, is my favorite of the three. It's about Princess Rose and the gardener, Galen, and is a spin-off of 'The Twelve Dancing Princesses'.
